Volunteering whilst at Home

By Arpita Chowdhury, Delhi

As students enter college they have a huge enthusiasm for doing voluntary work or serving NGOs. As my days progressed in Lady Sriram College for Women, Delhi University I made a choice to join the National Service Scheme which actually changed my life and the way I perceived my surroundings. It further influenced me to start my own NGO project, which is working to uplift underprivileged children.

But what about now? Many of us aren't really sure about the ways in which we can continue volunteering while sitting at home. Recently United Nations Volunteers India have launched a V Force campaign to fight against COVID 19. This is a really beautiful opportunity to reach out to so many people and to spread authentic information. UNV INDIA is inviting volunteers from all over India to help spread positivity amongst the people of the country and abroad in this trying and testing situation.

I'm working as a VFORCE volunteer and I'm really enjoying my work. It has really changed my view regarding volunteering. As the world is changing during this time so is the field of voluntary service. Students shouldn't worry anymore and dive in the ocean of opportunities available today.

So why wait? Join us and help others!
