One of my favourite things about the University of Liverpool are the societies you can join to give yourself a break from studying. Whether you are into sports, art, music or gaming there are plenty
of different societies to suit everyone. Freshers fair is the best time to find a society that interests you,
with society members there to tell you everything you need to know.
I joined the University of Liverpool dance society at the beginning of first year and it has been one of the best experiences of university life. I was lucky enough to be part of the competition squad and had the opportunity to compete against other Universities, visiting Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh. It was great to see other universities and experience their night life too! We were meant to spend a week in Croatia with other sport societies from different Universities. We were very excited for dance workshops, sunbathing and lots of partying. Unfortunately, the trip was cancelled due to Covid-19 but we hope to go next year instead.
As well as all the opportunities it provides, the University of Liverpool dance society also supports Mencap, a charity based in Liverpool. We put on showcases and other events
to raise money and awareness for the charity. Joining a society is a huge part of university so no
matter which society you join you will make great friends and be given amazing opportunities.
