As the virus spreads and things start to go out of control, there is one thing that definitely shouldn’t be washed away by fear, your dream.
I know it is certainly really stressful and tiring sometimes, especially if your dream contradicts family expectation(it’s quite serious in some Asian countries), and I am currently undergoing this.
I used to believe that achieving a dream is quite easy, but apparently I was wrong. The process is rather mentally painful. “Where’d you wanna go? How much you wanna risk?” It's one of my favorite lyrics and also the questions that I would ask myself whenever I feel like giving up. Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it.
Last Sunday, I had an argument with my mom about going abroad after high school graduation. I hate crying, yet tears still welled from my heart and flowed down my face when I told her how much it means to me and how I want to explore the world in my own way. I struggled to keep all the sentences grammatically correct and logical, but it is extremely tough to explain all the hard feelings when all the emotions flooded in. Reading extra materials for the extra exams, studying very hard to maintain a satisfying GPA when my friends are hanging out, and feeling frustrated about the application process, these things are more aching than they seem to be. Thus, I am very grateful to my teachers and friends who keep supporting me along the way.
Always keep in mind that you are probably not the only one going through this, so don’t feel lonely and don’t give up.
