First patients injected in UK vaccine trial

Oxford

Tilly Rose

Last night watching the news, I felt prouder than ever to be part of the amazing insitution that is Oxford University.

Seeing the first volunteers being injected with the Covid-19 vaccine which could provide the answer to this global pandemic, I was in awe of these incredible scientists who in just three months have produced a vaccine which would have usually taken years.

Prof Gilbert previously said she was "80% confident" the vaccine would work, but now prefers not to put a figure on it, saying simply she is "very optimistic" about its chances.

So for #FeatureFriday on 'That University Student' today I'm doing a shoutout to these Oxford scientists at the Jenner Institute.
