Cardiff on Corona

Cardiff on Corona

If you'd have told me a few weeks ago that 'self-isolation', 'social distancing' and 'turning the tide' would be part of my every day vocab or that I'd be spending the next three months indoors, I'd have laughed at you.

Covid-19 has not only changed the world but it has changed it at speed. I watch the news, scroll through the BBC app and to be honest with each article I read, I find myself struggling to believe what is being said. Yet, we must believe, for this threat may be invisible but it is real.

Cardiff Uni has been my home for the last 18 months and it is one I have grown to love. I'm a lucky second year who has had time to settle in, before this hit. I have my group of friends, I'm immersed in my degree and I know Cardiff pretty well. I feel awful for all of you first years right now; having your degree cut off just when you're beginning to settle in is no fun but  this is not the end, it's just a moment redirection.

So whatever you do don't give up on the uni dream - we've got to hold onto our goals right now, we need that motivation at the end of the tunnel.

Keep in contact with your mates - you will be reunited, keep reading your books - you will study again but most importantly, stay safe which = STAY INSIDE!
