And the People Stayed Home...
And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.
I read this on Instagram this week, a quote by poet Kitty O'Meara and it filled me with a little hope amongst this terrible situation.
It's almost as if this was written about right now. This poem imagines a time after this awful situation and it also dwells on ways we can cope with the current situation.
So, whilst productivity is great, I urge you to also see 'self-isolation' as a time to think, tell your loved ones how much you care about them, do all the things you've never had 'time' to do.
Read that book, paint that picture, journal, watch that film, bake that cake, practice yoga, meditate..do the things you have dreamt of which time has never allowed.
